Based in Lyon, La Fougue is an artists’ collective bringing together a range of disciplines: dance, music, DJing, photography, video and fashion. Driven by an energy deeply rooted in hip-hop culture, the collective aims to create genuine shared moments, where artists and audiences meet, experiment and co-create. Each project becomes a space for collective exploration, fuelled by a shared energy and a desire to break down barriers between disciplines.

Guided by one core principle, authenticity, La Fougue creates events where creativity and sharing come first.

Active on Lyon’s artistic scene, the collective has stood out through a variety of formats: Jam XXL at Les Nuits de Fourvière, its annual battle at Bizarre! in Vénissieux, and collaborative stage works such as Slam Tour for the Biennale de la Danse de Lyon. These experiences, among many others, reflect the collective’s desire to bring hip-hop culture to life in all its diversity.

At the heart of this dynamic, the founding members, from a variety of backgrounds, bring together dance, DJing, visual creation and event production, embodying the multidisciplinary approach and collective spirit that are La Fougue’s strength. Together, they defend a shared vision: to promote hip-hop culture and bring audiences together around authentic, creative and vibrant experiences.

SLAM TOUR (2025)

In the context of a concert, “slam” refers to a practice in the crowd, where audience members lift one person and carry them from hand to hand. It creates a collective energy and sparks an interaction between the audience and the artists, a way of celebrating music by adding a physical dimension to the concert experience. This is the experience that Compagnie Relevant and the collective La Fougue wanted to explore choreographically. Driven by an incredible hip-hop energy blended with diverse aesthetic influences, the two Lyon-based artist collectives bring together young dancers from the ID and Désoblique training programmes to imagine a large-scale, one-of-a-kind performance.
