Hip-hop choreographer and director of Le BLOCK · Centre Chorégraphique National de Rillieux-la-Pape since July 2025, Moncef Zebiri has been passionate about dance since his teenage years. He trained alongside the dancers of the Opéra de Lyon forecourt before joining the renowned Pockemon Crew from 2002 to 2016.
In 2010, he choreographed his first duet, Là-bas chez vous, exploring his French-Algerian identity, before founding Tie Break in 2016, then Free Styles in 2019. With Pockemon Crew, then Tie Break, Moncef won several international battle titles.
As a choreographer, he co-created the show Lobby, before creating Classe sick in 2020 and Joga Bonito in 2024. He is currently developing a new piece for 10 b-girls and b-boys and 4 musicians, The Get Down.
Alongside his career as a dancer and choreographer, Moncef is deeply committed to transmission and training. From competitions to the stage, he works with younger audiences to pass on his knowledge.

2025
Takes over as director of the Centre Chorégraphique National de Rillieux-la-Pape with his project, Le BLOCK.
2024
Creates Joga Bonito, a piece that brings hip-hop dance and football freestyle into dialogue. Joins La Relève, a programme initiated by the French Ministry of Culture.
2020
Creates Classe sick, which is performed more than ten times across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.
2019
Founds Free Styles, developing a more personal choreographic language.
2018
Takes part in the IADU incubator, Initiatives d’Artistes en Danses Urbaines, at La Villette in Paris.Helps organise Maillage, a choreographic competition supported by the Lyon 3rd arrondissement town hall.
2016
Co-founds Tie Break with three other dancers from Pockemon Crew. Together, they stage their first creation, Lobby, which is performed 55 times in France between 2018 and 2020.
2013
Creates Impressions, a piece that highlights two artistic currents: hip-hop dance and the pictorial movement of Impressionism.
2010
Creates his first duet, Là-bas chez vous, questioning his French-Algerian identity.
2007
Begins exploring choreographic writing for the first time and co-creates Gourbi.
2002
Joins Pockemon Crew, with whom he collaborates for 15 years. Within the collective, he performs in and co-choreographs Gourbi, Second Souffle, Silence, on tourne, Hashtag and other works.
