One year after taking over as director of the CCNR, Moncef Zebiri is inaugurating his project, Le BLOCK, with a large-scale popular celebration.
Residents of Rillieux-la-Pape, children from the BLOCK School, dancers, musicians and renowned artists will come together on the CCNR forecourt with one shared aim: to celebrate every form of art, from breaking to mint tea, from DJing to traditional Moroccan music.
On the programme: an introductory hip-hop workshop, an all-styles battle, a makers’ market, freestyles by artists from Le BLOCK, drinks stands and small dishes “made in Rillieux”. Le BLOCK Celebrates is all about dance, sound, sharing and pure enjoyment.

5:00 pm – BLOCK School performances
Students from the BLOCK School, aged 5 to 12, will present the result of nine months of introduction to hip-hop dance and breaking with Noussair Ousseni aka Bostii. The programme features group performances that promise to be both high-energy and moving.
5:45 pm – Performance: Entrechat et Remix / I.D. Training Programme
The trainees from the professional hip-hop dance performer training programme will present a choreography by Aurélien Kairo / Cie De Fakto. Classical repertoire, thrown into the remix. With Entrechat et Remix: A Story That Is Anything but Classical, great masterpieces leave the polished gold of the opera house behind for a high-voltage new version. With flashes of humour and remixed rhythms, the dancers shake up the codes with infectious energy. A sparkling choreography where the tutu becomes decidedly more playful, and more hip-hop.
