Noémie De Almeida Ferreira, a dancer at Yuval Pick’s company, invites you to dive into Yuval’s work for a Winter Camp week at the National Choreographic Center of Rillieux-la-Pape (CCNR).
Each morning, after awakening your body (and your heart) with a ® Practice / Yuval Pick method class, Noémie will share choreographic materials of Yuval Pick’s new creation, Into the silence. She’ll invite you to use them throughout the workshop, in an empirical and exploratory approach.
This week of immersion experience will be an opportunity to express your creativity and find new ways of virtuosity.
The Winter Camp will close with a JAM of improvisations, combining dance and music. A joyful way to crystallize the week’s sensitive journey and to end 2024.
“We’re here to free ourselves, dare to discover and enjoy moving towards the unknown.”
For the past twenty years, choreographer Yuval Pick has been developing a method that nourishes his dance and his pieces: Practice. It has become the daily practice of the members of his company, revealing and exalting the creativity of the performers and challenging their relationship with the body. Practice considers each movement as a manifestation of the self, concretized by an intention. Using improvisation and precise exercises, she explores the possibilities of a dancing body guided by organic images and sensations. The Practice method is now taught in dance schools and companies in France and abroad.
