Choreographer Yuval Pick and permanent CCNR dancers Madoka Kobayashi and Noémie De Almeida Ferreira will introduce trainees to the Practice method.

Practice offers tools to enrich performers’ physical and expressive palette. A daily practice of the CCNR company, this method is also transmitted in numerous training courses and companies, in France and abroad.

Since the early 2000s, Yuval Pick has created some twenty pieces. Their writing is based on a matrix or method, called Practice, which is both a philosophy of the body and a set of unprecedented self-experiences.Practice proposes a departure from the beaten paths of dance, to rediscover the organic, intimate depth of each movement. And invites everyone to (re)discover their singular bodily identity, as well as a freer relationship with space and others. With Practice, it’s no longer just a question of trajectories to follow, postures to hold, or technical gestures to execute (in a certain ” forgetfulness of self “), but of setting the internal as well as the external in motion, and of intentional actions, marked by subjectivity.
