After training at the Centre national de danse contemporaine d'Angers, Emmanuel Eggermont made his debut as a dancer in Madrid with Carmen Werner. Fascinated by the discovery of other cultures, he also spent two years in South Korea, where he led a project combining teaching and choreography. This period - as well as his fifteen-year collaboration with Raimund Hoghe (Boléro Variations, Si je meurs laissez le balcon ouvert, L'Après-midi...) - left their mark on his work, instilling in him a taste for the essential, sincerity and humanity on stage. Today, as a legacy of this work, he has choreographed An Evening with Raimund (2021) and About Love and Death (2024), pieces that question heritage and filiation in the field of choreography.

Following a six-year research residency at L'L (an experimental performing arts research facility in Brussels), where he questioned his practice, Emmanuel Eggermont began developing his choreographic projects at L'Anthracite (Lille). His pieces have received national and European acclaim (Switzerland, Portugal, Germany...). They led to her being awarded the Beaumarchais-SACD grant and twice taking part in the In d'Avignon festival. With a tangible taste for the plastic arts and architecture, he deploys images with expressionist resonances, alongside abstract dance and performative tones. His three latest creations, Πόλις (Pólis), Aberration and All Over Nymphéas follow this artistic line and form a “chromato-choreographic” cycle. Monochromes and pictorial studies invite viewers to become aware of what lies invisibly within them, their buried history and the one superimposed on it. Emmanuel Eggermont was associate artist at the Centre Chorégraphique National de Tours (2019 - 2023). During this period, he began to reflect on the sustainability of artistic ideas, combining transmission and creation.
