Sounds are first of all vibrations that travel through the air and thus reach our eardrums. They can also reach us underwater or underground, because vibrations travel through liquids and solids faster than through air. They alert us!

This is why even today, some people put their ears to the ground to listen to the sound of footsteps or a far away vehicle, long time before the wind blows it. And this is also why sound vibrations resonate in our bodies, which are mainly made up of water, passing through the skin and bones.

In Barulhos, I imagine a singular sound device spread in the space, that will bring an immersion feeling, a backwards and forwards movement between the inside and outside, the up and down, the day and night. It will wake up muscles, it will excite spirits and bodies, it will organize order and disorder ...

This device will be a real medium on which I will rely to imagine and think bodies in space. It will be a real partner on stage. By that, I mean that without it, I wouldn’t tell the same story. It will act as a scenography and create meaning.
