Bertrand Larrieu — Composer
Since 1999, he realizes musical creations for theater (Craie Theater) or for contemporary dance (Christian Ubl, Yuval Pick, Florent Ottello), video-art mixing (Mathieu Bouvier) or documentary sound recording (Sebastien Coupy), in the frame of which he tries to merge techniques of sound and musical composition. In 2007, he collaborates with the guitarist Damien Cluzel in an improvisation duet. In 2008, he creates his mini documentary Nocturnelike an urban drift mixing interview-voice and music-noise. This inspiration from Nocturneleads him to create the project on-off/pause : twelve portraits are set in music and sound making a real album, both documentary and musical. This approach of “fied recording” becomes the central element of his composition, his wish is to rise up banal and environmental sounds to a status of musicality: create a transient and sensitive landscape made of words, noises and harmony.
He collaborates with Yuval Pick in 2010 for Score and in 2012 for Folks.
